This opening assignment is for 3 months
City: DARLINGTON
Civil Engineering Operative Required to work within the Highways Department.
The successful candidate would be expected to carry out routine and responsive maintenance/repairs, on all Highways Assets and should be able to demonstrate skills in Paving, Kerbing. Concrete works with experience of Bituminous patching and Hot rolled asphalt works is desirable.

Qualifications:
NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a Civil Engineering/Highway maintenance field or a willingness to obtain the qualification within one year of commencement.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of signing and guarding in accordance with RASWA guidelines
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years experience of working in a Civil engineering environment.
Skills & Abilities:
An ability to read and understand drawings and specifications and an understanding of safe working practices
