Role: Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician

Location: West Middlesex University Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust

Rate: £20.18 ph

Shift pattern: 4-5 days a week between 9am to 5pm

Start date: ASAP

Placement length: 6 months

Job Summary

The Technician will work in the Acute Medical Unit in the day to day running of the pharmacy dispensary counters, ensuring that all work is processed efficiently and in the correct order according to schedules.

To maintain Accredited Accuracy Checking Technician status and perform the final accuracy check of prescriptions dispensed by other pharmacy staff under the guidance of the Responsible Pharmacist.

Supervise other staff, ensuring that policies and procedures are strictly adhered to, and dealing with any deviation appropriately. To label and dispense medications when required by the Pharmacy Manager, Dispensary Manager or Responsible Pharmacist, ensuring compliance with all procedures, ready to receive a final accuracy check by a pharmacist or another Accredited Accuracy Checking Technician to meet business needs Oversee the rotation and maintenance of all medicine stocks and sundry items, to ensure value for money and reduced wastage.

Must have previous experience within a clinical setting and have completed a medicines management programme.

Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in pharmacy (MPharm) accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • At least 2 years post-graduate experience.
  • 6 months recent NHS experience within the last 3 years.
  • You will need to pass an enhanced background check.
