Summary


Specialist School Support Worker - Band 4 - Jack Tizard Special School

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join theChildren’s Community Nursing and Special School’s Teamin our Children’s Health and Development Division. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiasticChildren’s Care Worker (Band 4)who islooking to develop their skills in the largest community healthcare trust in London

The post holder will work within the Children’s Community Nursing Team, based at Jack Tizard Special School and supporting the nurse and B3 care workers to meet the health care needs of the students.

The team works closely with colleagues in Primary Care, hospitals, social services and education.

This post is for 37.5 hours per week, term time only, Monday to Friday.
This post offers a great opportunity for carers to develop their clinical skills and have experience working in the community and special school environment. The organisation is supportive of training needs and there is an excellent mandatory training and education programme. You will also receive regular clinical supervision and safeguarding supervision.

You will need to be passionate about children, enjoy working as a team as well as being an autonomous practitioner.

To work as a member of the school health team providing health care to children with complex health needs in one of the Special Schools in CLCH.

To undertake training required, becoming clinically competent in providing holistic care for an individual child in a special school setting.

Special School Nurse: senior special schools HCA: care workers; school staff; children attending Special Needs School.

• To work in conjunction with the Specialist School Nurse, family, teachers, other care workers and health care professionals to ensure a holistic approach to the child’s care.
• Work effectively and flexibly under direct or indirect supervision to meet the child’s individual needs during the school day.
• Assist with the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care under the direct/indirect supervision of the Specialist School Nurse
• Ensure the safety of the child by monitoring and reporting all concerns and changes in their condition to the Specialist School Nurse
• To administer medication to children in the school within competence and under the supervision of the Specialist School Nurse
