An exciting post has arisen for an Occupational Therapist with expert knowledge and experience to join the Pain and Rheumatology Occupational Therapy teams at Addenbrooke's Hospital.

We are looking for a motivated Clinician who is passionate about empowering patients who have long term conditions (such as fibromyalgia, back pain, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis) to learn self-management skills through individual sessions and group work, in an Outpatient setting. Patient education may include joint protection, relaxation, pacing and hand exercises. Group sessions may include working into the pain programmes and joint protection programme.

You will be responsible for assessing patients using an Occupational Therapy bio-psycho-social approach for individual sessions. Your work will include a dynamic focus on the use of goal setting to help patients problem solve everyday activities that they may find difficult to do, such as work, leisure, sleep, driving, personal care, domestic tasks, activities with their family and socialising.

You will be able to effectively and creatively carry a full caseload without direct supervision whilst developing supervisory and project / service delivery skills. Working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and Occupational Therapy Department.

The work may include a mixture of working in the Occupational Therapy Outpatient Clinic and working from home.

Responsible for the provision of high quality, patient focused care.

Responsible for assessing, developing and implementing specialist therapy provision in the Occupational Therapy Rheumatology and Pain Outpatient Service.

Responsible for providing specialist advice, training and support to, and liaising with, other staff, team members and students.
