Summary

Thistly Meadow Primary School is a friendly, popular school with a caring family ethos and a Good Ofsted rating. This is an exciting time for us as we grow our school following a significant extension in 2020.
We are looking for an energetic and skilled individual to fill a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) post. The successful candidate will work to support the class teacher to provide 1:1 support for a child and will have:
Experience of working as part of a team or 1:1 to support pupils with special educational needs (SEND)Experience of working with groups of childrenExperience of working with a range of pupils, including those with SEND, particularly those with autism, speech, language and communication difficulties and social and emotional needs Ability to tailor learning for different needs, working within a team to cater for different learning styles, social and emotional needs and SEND needs, as well as children who may simply be finding a particular area of learning a challengeRelevant and recent experience of working with pupils with SEMH and with external agenciesEnthusiasm and motivationand experience of working in partnership with teachers, parents and other professionalsApplicants without the necessary experience will be considered as comprehensive training will be given.Contract: This is a temporary post for a fixed term of 12 months in the first instance.Hours of work: 8.45am to 3.20pm (60 mins unpaid lunch break) Monday to Friday, total 27 hours 55 minutes per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus inset days).
Salary is LCC Grade 5 - pay range 7-8 (£11.97 - £12.17 per hour) dependent on experience.
