Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Advanced Nurse or Paramedic to join our CQC rated ‘Outstanding’ Trust, within our Urgent Care Service. The post is for 5.5 hours per week.

Our Primary Care Centre is open 7 days a week from 6.30pm until midnight and at weekends from 8am until midnight. Our current vacancy is for a Practitioner/s who is dual trained in Minor Injuries and Minor Illness and is a non-medical prescriber who can cover Sundays 18:30pm to Midnight. If you can not commit to every Sunday, please still apply.

Based at West Berkshire Community Hospital, you will be in a forward-thinking team of GPs, Practitioners, Nurses and Healthcare assistants, providing high quality out of hours care to the local population.

In addition to reviewing patients face to face, there will be telephone triage from the base.
1. Practice at an advanced level, working as an autonomous practitioner within the MDT to deliver high quality urgent care to patients.
2. Take responsibility and be accountable in assessing, diagnosing, treating or referring patients.
3. Review patients face to face within our unit.
4. Undertake telephone triage work and telephone advice calls
5. As an independent prescriber, prescribe medicines in accordance with NMC/HCPC guidance and national policy. 
6. Request and interpret tests appropriate to patient’s needs.

The 3/4 “must haves” for you to be considered for this role:  
1. Registered Nurse/Paramedic
2. Post Registration Advanced Clinical Practice or have completed 2 or more clinical skills modules.
3. Non-Medical Prescribing (NMP)
4. Minor illness qualification and experience
5. Minor injuries qualification and experience
6. Proactive, flexible and enthusiastic approach
