Summary
Personal Assistants required for two 10 year old boys who live in Bude.
They have Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy and would like someone who they can build up a positive relationship with and provide them with some 1:1 support.
They would like someone to support them with their independence. They love cars, Lego and building.
A personal assistant will enable them to enjoy activities in their local community with their family.
Up to 10 hours per week are available, although this is very flexible.
Some weekend and school holiday availability will be required.
Car driver preferred but not essential.
Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people with special educational needs is essential.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
All offers of employment will be subject to the successful candidate undertaking an enhanced DBS check; this administration process will be undertaken by Cornwall Council.
