We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team.
Job Description: As a Motor Vehicle Technician in our MOT Centre, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and roadworthiness of vehicles through conducting MOT tests and performing necessary repairs. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing vehicle faults, carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs, conducting routine maintenance tasks, and performing MOT tests in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Perform diagnostic tests to identify vehicle faults and malfunctions.
• Carry out necessary repairs and replacements of faulty components, including mechanical and electrical systems.
• Conduct routine servicing and maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
• Conduct comprehensive MOT tests in accordance with DVSA guidelines and regulatory requirements. Training can be provided.
• Ensure accurate documentation of all repairs, maintenance tasks, and MOT test results.
• Utilise diagnostic equipment and tools effectively to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Adhere to manufacturer guidelines and specifications when carrying out repairs, maintenance, and MOT tests.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring the proper and safe handling and storage of tools and equipment.
• Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology, tools, and repair techniques through ongoing training and professional development.
• Collaborate with colleagues and provide technical support when necessary.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements:
• Three years proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician or similar role.
• Relevant qualifications, such as a City & Guilds or NVQ in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Current (or willingness to train) MOT Tester status with a valid MOT Tester License.
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems, mechanical components, and electrical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A valid UK driving license.
• Flexibility to work occasional weekends or overtime, as required.
