Summary
Or perhaps you've supported other types of clients?
Happy to travel to various homes across Bristol and South Gloucestershire?
Happy working flexibly to meet the needs of our young people?
Want to have an earning potential of over £30,000 per year (by doing an additional 2 sleeps per week)?
Then we'd like to hear from you.
We are looking for a Support Worker who shares our purpose, to join our expanding Independent Living Services Team where we house and support young people 16+ under Local Authority Care across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. We have properties in Yate, Henbury, Emersons Green, Kingswood and soon Bedminster. We need people who are flexible to work from any of these locations, however, we ideally would like someone who lives closer to the Henbury area as this is potentially where we may expand the service.
We are looking for someone to work Full-time (37.5 hours per week) or Part-time (minimum of 15 hours per week) on a rota basis. We need people who are flexible to work varying shifts including sometimes a pattern of (3pm-11pm, Sleep - 11pm - 8am and then early 8am - 4pm) if we have young people who need 24 hour support.
We would also consider people to join our Bank team which is £12.50 per hour, plus holiday pay accrual and paid training, working shifts as and when they are available on a zero hour basis. This may end up being predominately sleep shifts.
We provide bespoke support packages to suit a broad range of young people ranging from 24/7 to a few hours per week. Our focus is to provide the highest quality of support in line with Ofsted Standards. We aim to enhance individuals' independence skills, empowering them to advance their aspirations with greater confidence and capability.
Why should you consider this opportunity?
Work within a fun, established and very supportive team.
Management support from a very well established and tight knit senior management team with decades of experience.
Career growth, join a service which has grown in the last 5 years from a few properties to 20+ across 5 counties.
You'll Re-enforce, positive support being delivered and establish the same standards in new placements.
Provide a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach to empower young people in improving independent living skills.
Safeguard them from any potential danger, harm, or abuse.
Accurately document notes on our computer system and ensure seamless communication with support staff for effective handovers.
While the role may present challenges, the rewards of witnessing the positive impact of your guidance and support on these young lives are truly extraordinary.
To excel in this position, you'll need to be flexible, patient, resilient, and professional, approaching your duties with a calm and caring demeanour.
Please note: Given the locations of the properties, a full driver's license and access to your own vehicle with business car insurance cover are essential.
