Summary


NHS England is looking to appoint a Foundation Training Programme Director (FPD) with a specific responsibility for careers guidance. The post holder will carry responsibility for the Central School within the West Midlands and will work within the Midlands careers framework supporting the Foundation School Director in the delivery of a regional careers guidance service.

This post attracts 1PA (4 hours per week) which will be reimbursed to the successful candidates employing trust at £10,000 (pro rata).

he Foundation Training Programme Director is responsible for the overall management and control of the foundation programme year. They will work with the local lead educators to ensure that each placement of the programme and the programme as a whole meets the Local NHSE area standard for training and that each trainee is able to access a comprehensive range of experiences which will enable them to gain the capabilities necessary for full registration and completion of the foundation curriculum.

The post holder is jointly accountable to the Postgraduate Dean via the Postgraduate Clinical Tutor (Director of Medical Education), the Foundation School Director (FSD) and to the Chief Executive / Medical Director of the Trust.

The Foundation Training Programme Director will assist the Postgraduate Clinical Tutor in managing the Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education in the Trust.

The Foundation Training Programme Director is professionally and managerially accountable to the Clinical Tutor. The Foundation Training Programme Director will focus upon improvement of learner supervision, assessment and experience, engagement of faculty and ensuring effective educational outcomes, both now and in the future.
