Grangetown Governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and caring Family Engagement Officer who has the necessary skills to build a strong partnership with our families, respond to the needs of our diverse, multicultural community and collaborate effectively with other services and agencies. The successful candidate will use these skills to work across school, home and the community to ensure our children are supported effectively. This role demands excellent interpersonal skills, as building relationships with all our families is vital. In our multicultural school, an ability to speak a community language is desirable.
The successful candidate will also offer cover for classes and support learners in, and out, of class
The successful candidate will:
● Liaise, and work, with families, staff and external agencies to ensure best outcomes for pupils.
● Liaise, and engage with, the wider community to the benefit of our families, learners and the school..
● Organise and coordinate in-school adult learning classes, liaising with the external providers.
● Organise school and family-based events to help improve engagement.
● Develop families' ability to support children’s progress at home, through provision of curriculum based workshops.
● Work alongside senior leaders to raise the attendance of pupils.
● Be proactive in continuing own self-development, participating in training and performance development as required
● Actively promote equal opportunities and support the delivery of services which are accessible and appropriate to the diverse needs of service users.
● Work with the ALNCo and pupils in, and out of, class to support attainment through delivery of focused learning support and interventions.
● Cover for other members of the team where needs arise.
