Broxburn Academy is a six-year comprehensive school serving the areas of Broxburn, Uphall, Uphall Station, Pumpherston and Dechmont. We work closely with our cluster primaries which include Broxburn P.S, Kirkhill P.S, Uphaull P.S, Pumpherston and Uphall Station Community P.S and Dechmont Infant School to ensure a consistent and holistic approach.

Our current school roll is 850.

We are looking for a Pupil Support Worker to contribute to providing a safe, secure and inclusive school environment.

The Post Holder will work with and support school pupils in a range of situations. They are part of the school team involved in implementing school strategies designed to improve pupil performance in the following areas:

Progress in learning and attainment
Personal and social development

P7/S1 transition support
Behaviour
Relationships with peers
Relationships with staff
Attendance and time keeping
Dress code

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
