Summary

Offender Health Directorate The Offender Health Directorate is one of the largest and most successful providers of prison healthcare in the UK. The Directorate provide physical, mental health and substance misuse healthcare services in prisons across the East Midlands, Lincolnshire & Leicestershire. Providing healthcare to several Prisons, for a population of over 10 000. Its the variety of this role which will provide a stimulating experience like no other, one minute you could be engaging patients in a mental health assessment or delivering brief therapeutic interventions with patients who have primary or secondary mental health problems, the next you may be facilitating a CPA review or contributing to a risk management meeting due to an individuals self-harm behaviour. We work as part of a wide MDT, including GPs, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, RMNs, Pharmacists, Substance Misuse Recovery workers, RGNs, Sexual Health Specialists and other Allied Professionals and have strong links with community services to promote continuity of care. We have well-established and strong relationships with the prison team, who support us to deliver healthcare safely. This role enables you to work autonomously, whilst always having the support of a strong team when required. There are opportunities and support for progression for the right candidate, which can be anything from completing a full Preceptorship to a masters degree. As a senior nurse your will also be responsible for supporting and supervising junior staff, to engage in individual and group supervision and reflective practice.
