Summary

A POP Essex Support Worker is expected to ensure the smooth running of POP Essex sessions by supporting POP Essex service users with the rest of our staff team to deliver high quality play & development opportunities for disabled children and young people. This is a part time position, predominantly weekends with occasional weekday hours.

Responsibilities:
To manage and maintain sessions to the high standards set out by POP Essex.
To ensure the safety and well-being of children & young people attending POP Essex sessions.
Work efficiently and respectfully with POP Essex Staff and Volunteers to ensure the delivery of high-quality play & development opportunities.
TO model good practice to other staff and volunteers.
TO always protect children and young people from abuse or harm by following POP Essex safeguarding and health & safety policies.
To liaise with parents/carers in respectful, sensitive and professional manner.
To use own initiative and common sense.
To ensure that all POP Essex equipment and play spaces are maintained in a clean, safe, good working order.
POP Essex may from time to time require you to undertake additional or other duties as necessary to meet the needs of POP Essex on a short term basis e.g holiday or sickness cover

Basic safeguarding awareness
Experience of working with disabled children and young people to cater for their complex medical and behavioural needs
Qualifications to demonstrate the above to a minimum of Level 3 (or equivalent) is preferred

Additional training will be provided as and when appropriate
