Summary

Morgan Hunt requires a Management Accountant for NHS based in South West London
Pay Rate: £22.00ph PAYE + £2.65 WTR = Total £24.65ph PAYE
Hours 37.5 9am to 5pm Mon to Fri
Location: South West London
Duration: 3 months on going contract

Key Skills:

Essential: Educated to at least AAT certificate level, or degree level, or equivalent experience. Significant progress made towards completing a CCAB qualification.
A minimum of three years’ experience of working in an accounting department of which approximately one year’s experience has been in a financial management role.
Advanced ECDL qualification, spreadsheet skills to ‘macro’ level.
A good working knowledge of the method of operation of all the accounting sub[1]systems.
Understand the use and purpose of accounting accruals and provisions.
Understand the use and purpose of balance sheet accounts for stock accounting.,
Desirable: Training provided by department on: Using finance systems - journal uploads and invoicing if deployed

Job Summary:

1) To generate and maintain budget reports and other spreadsheet based
reports in accordance with agreed timetables and department policies
and procedures.
2) To investigate significant variances by interrogating all the financial
ledger sub-systems, and to summarise conclusions in spreadsheet and
other forms for use by managers and senior finance staff.
3) To prepare costing spreadsheets for budget setting, and for financial
planning.

4) To meet regularly with budget holders and to provide information and
analysis to them. In addition to support communication of information
between them and other departments within Finance.
5) To resolve queries from managers and budget holders regarding
financial management matters with minimal supervision.
6) To resolve queries and explain the relevant regulations to individual
members of staff of the Trusts Standing Financial Instructions.
7) Recommend improvements and changes to local working practices
8) To comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act with regard
to the confidentiality of personal information and patient confidentiality.
9) To undertake any other duties as required, which are consistent with the
grade and nature of the post.
