Summary

The following exciting opportunities are as a direct result of a large-scale 'Strengthening Operational Structures' transformation programme recently undertaken. The Programme has resulted in the development of a leadership framework that will facilitate improvements in clinical service delivery for patients within our community and support our objectives.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior clinical Leader to join our 0-19yrs service within the Children and Families Division. The service provides a universal offer to all children in Birmingham, with additional aspects including Healthy Child Programme, immunisation, and enuresis services.

The successful candidate will be a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse or a Paediatric Nurse with a passion to drive safe, high-quality care in the community to young people and families across Birmingham.

Under the guidance of the Group Clinical Manager, the Service Clinical Manager will work within the newly established 0-19 management team to ensure that clinical standards are maintained throughout the service.

The Group Clinical Manager will be required to embed a working model of skill mix that supports the utilisation of expertise within the workforce. This integrated approach is further enhanced through the development of positive relationships with colleagues across the wider health economy, social care and local children’s centres to offer holistic support and interventions to children and families.

This post will be supported by the Group Manager Group & Group Manager 0-19 years Services - working alongside Early Years Practice Lead, District Clinical Managers and other local managers to deliver effective management and performance across this service.

Experience of line managing staff and the ability to plan, organise and be effective in change management in relation to these services, and the wider health economy, is essential.

Working alongside the senior management team and senior clinical professionals, the successful candidates will be involved in the delivery of service transformation, organisational development and integrated workforce changes within the Birmingham Forward Steps service.

This role will entail the responsibility of managing staff within a defined number of Health Visiting teams situated within defined districts in order to ensure effective systems are in place for safe staffing, supervision, work allocation, target setting and effective achievement of key performance indicators.

The role requires you to have experience as a high performing clinical leader who emulates professional behaviours in line with our Trust values of being caring, open, respectful, responsible, and inclusive and support the Children and Families Division in being a 'Great Place to Work'.

Although this role will be based at the above locations, travel across sites within Birmingham will be required.
