Summary

The Department of Estates and Facilities Management (EFM) at the University of Sheffield is responsible for the management of the University's estate including managing property and facilities and developing new buildings.

We have a great opportunity in the Engineering & Maintenance team for someone with a passion for maintenance who is looking to make a difference in the University by helping to maintain its buildings to a world class standard.

As a suitably qualified Plumber Technician, you will have a good understanding of mechanical first line maintenance and the flexibility to support other members of our maintenance team in day to day planned and reactive activities across the campus. You will also be required to carry out pre-programmed inspections of Mechanical installations and any associated remedial works. A technical knowledge of current best practice techniques is essential, as is the flexibility to work as part of a team or alone. You will be able to follow Instruction but also use your own initiative as required. The majority of the work is of a physical nature and requires manual handling and the ability to carry tools and equipment across campus. The ability to ascend and descend ladders and to utilise access equipment when required with the dexterity to undertake a range of work tasks to ensure a good standard of works is also essential.
