Summary

Are you a nurse looking for a new challenge in a thriving drug and alcohol service?

The Role
Working within our nursing team, the post holder will be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians and recovery practitioners, working across our adult drug and alcohol service. The role will include a wide range of activities including supporting us to achieve and maintain micro-elimination of Hepatitis C for our service, hospital alcohol liaison, conducting health and wellbeing assessments, supporting ambulatory (community) alcohol detoxification, and Buvidal administration.

We are looking for a passionate and professional person to fill this position, key requirements include:

• A strong team player who can work together with colleagues to achieve improved outcomes for all those who use our services and reduce health inequalities amongst the most vulnerable and complex people.
• An ability to communicate effectively to clinical and non-clinical colleagues within the team, and in the wider community and partnerships.
• A good understanding of CQC and commitment to high quality service provision.

We welcome applications from nurses who do not have direct experience of the drug and alcohol field but are interested in and motivated to develop their skills in this area. We can provide training to support your development.

The Service
Via Redbridge is an established, integrated community service delivered across several provisions in the Borough. The service consists of both clinical and psychosocial elements and is CQC registered to provide a range of clinical interventions including BBV and health interventions, OST prescribing, community detox, a recovery hub, a family and friends service, and service user involvement provision.

Together we offer a wide range of pharmacological, psychosocial, recovery-orientated, health focused and inpatient interventions that support individuals and their families who wish to receive advice, assessment, and treatment for their drug and alcohol related needs.

Our adult drug and alcohol service is co-located with other Via services, including our smoking cessation, and people’s substance misuse and sexual health teams.

Location
The role is predominantly based in Ilford, Redbridge but can involve travel to external meetings and satellites within the borough, and to other Via locations as needed.

Our standard hours of service are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, with occasional evening clinics supported on rotation.
