As our Support Worker with Young People Services, you’ll be at the heart of supporting our customers aged 16+ leaving foster care or at risk of homelessness. You will help to develop their skills to live more independently in the community. You’ll make a big difference each day as you help our customers achieve their hopes and aspirations. Typical day as a Lead Support Worker (known by us as Coordinator)
• We are Ofsted Registered! You will be working within the Ofsted guidance.
• Creating support plans with your customers and coordinating our small team of Support Workers working to the plans.
• Customer group aged 16+ leaving care.
• Helping customers with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able.
• Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.
• Cuppas, chats and catch ups. There’s no rushing from one customer to the next here! Plenty of time to collaborate with colleagues too.

You bring
• Passion to support young people to live their best life, working collaboratively with an eye for detail.
• Experience of creating person-centred support plans and supporting colleagues in working to work to the plans.
• Experience of coordinating and assessing customer referrals.
• The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach

Our manager is Christina, who is perfectly placed to support you as you join. There are 4 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!
Job details
• You’ll work on a rota basis between the hours of 8am and 10pm and take your turn working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!
• The rota is written in advance and the team is really flexible helping out swapping shifts if needs be so you can manage your work life balance.
• Able to use technology to update support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.
• You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
