Summary

Academic Appointments, in partnership with a West Leeds Special school, who are looking for Teaching assistants and SEND Support workers.

Who are we looking for?

A successful candidate would:

Experience within Care/support work
Worked with Children/Adults
Education experience is desirable but not essential
What to Expect?

The school caters for pupils aged 2 to 19 years, on different specialist and mainstream sites supporting a wide range of moderate learning difficulties; severe learning difficulties; complex & multiple needs; Asperger’s; Autism and Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs.
Some students have physical, medial, speech & language, visual and hearing or sensory impairments.
It is essential that the candidate has previous experience of working with Complex Communication Needs and Autism.
The successful applicant will be supporting pupils with complex needs and autism so it is important that applicants have experience in a similar role and are comfortable working in this environment, the role will include some personal care.

What we need from you:

To be currently available for full time/Part time flexible employment.
2x references.
A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate or be willing to obtain one (we can assist with this part).
Team teach Positive behaviour management certificate preferred but not essential.
