Summary

This is an exciting opportunity at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) as we strive towards an outstanding model of care for people affected by mental health and their families. We are looking for exceptional mental health professionals with extensive experience who can support the Lead Nurse for Mental Health in the delivery of effective clinical support to ward teams to enhance the care to patients across all three of our divisions (Medicine, Surgery and Family and Clinical Support Services)

This is an exciting time to join HHFT as the Trust and partners are ambitiously working to modernise our hospitals and health services in a programme that will deliver a new hospital to serve the people of north and mid Hampshire, as well as many other healthcare benefits, as part of the government’s Health Infrastructure Plan to modernise NHS hospitals.

The provision of outstanding integrated mental health care across our services for the benefit off all patients is a key commitment for HHFT.

The Team

The post holders will work in collaboration with system partners to support the Lead Nurse for Mental Health in developing the provision of care for people with mental health needs across HHFT. This is a newly established nurse led service, which the successful candidates will play a key role in shaping and developing.

We are seeking to recruit senior professionals who have the passion and tenacity to improve the care and safety of patients. The service will provide seven day a week cover providing expert advice, hands on role modelling and supporting best practice across all departments. Each Specialist Practitioner will play an important role working across all sites, Basingstoke, Winchester and Andover. The areas of specialism include:

Emergency /Unscheduled Care

Children, Young People and Maternity

Older Persons

Adults

Our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient. Patient care is at the heart of what we do at our three sites: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester and Andover War Memorial Hospital. Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides medical and surgical services to a population of approximately 600,000 people across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire.
Our cultural ambition is to have a culture that places people at the heart of all we do, where we all belong, and where learning, improvement and excellence thrive.

We provide specialist services to people across the UK and internationally. We are one of only two centres in the UK treating pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare form of abdominal cancer) and we are leaders in the field of tertiary liver cancer and colorectal cancer.

The trust employs more than 9,000 staff and has a turnover of over £500 million a year. As a Foundation Trust, we are directly accountable to our members through the governors. The Council of Governors represent the interests of their constituencies and influence the future plans of the Foundation Trust.
