Our client lives in Cringleford, Norwich and is looking for a part-time personal assistant who can motivate him to do his daily chores. He is a quiet gentleman who likes to stay at home. He likes Manchester United, gaming, reading and crime programmes. You will assist him around his home with general housework and cooking. You will also support him out in the community with social activities and accompany him to appointments. There is no personal care involved in this role, however you will be required to assist with personal care when needed during/after seizures. For this reason, we are recruiting a male personal assistant only.

Our client and the role can be challenging so you must have an understanding of mental health to be able to support him adequately with his wellbeing.

It is not essential that you drive but you must like dogs as the family have a lively and loveable cockapoo! An understanding of autism is also desirable.

You will be trained to CQC standards to meet the needs of the client.

Essential Requirements Identified for this Role:

- An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this vacancy (expense to be met by HomeCareDirect)
- You must be male to apply for this role (this role is exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Part 2, Schedule 9)
- You must have previous experience in mental health
- You must be ok working around a dog in the family home
- Prepared to commit to long term care for one client in a 'person-centred' way
- Willing to be trained to CQC standards to meet the client's needs
- Respect Company policies and procedures
- Be reliable / non-judgemental / caring / responsible / compassionate
- Committed to confidentiality and to treat the client with dignity and respect

Contractual Benefits:

- £12.50 per hour
- Training/Supervision/Distance Learning is paid at minimum wage​

This vacancy is for a personal assistant to join our client’s support package to support them in their own home. We will be your legal employer on behalf of the client and you will not be asked to support other clients. All of our contracts are for permanent positions with a 6 month probationary period.
