We are looking for a Rehabilitation/Personal Care Assistant to support our client in the Bramcote, Nottingham area. We are offering either full or part-time positions in what is a very rewarding role within a dynamic and caring support team.

We will be your legal employer on behalf of our client and you will not be asked to support other clients. All of our contracts are for permanent positions with a 6 month probationary period.

Our client is a young man with a brain injury and has complex care and rehabilitation needs which requires support in his own family home and in the community to enable him to lead an active and fulfilling life.

The role will involve supporting with personal care, companionship and helping our client to engage with a comprehensive range of multi-disciplinary therapies. Central to the role is supporting his engagement with a range of sporting and social activities, developing social networks and supporting with activities of daily living.

This role requires you to use your own initiative, to have excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills. You should have a compassionate, caring and positive ‘can-do’ attitude and be able to demonstrate that your core values align with our clients which include having a willingness to learn, living life to the full and to demonstrate honesty and integrity.

The role will involve physical demands related to manual handling and supporting access, to a range of fun and dynamic sports/activities, whilst also supporting therapy as needed. Please see the ‘essential requirements’ below before applying to ensure you meet the criteria for this role. The full duties of this role will be discussed at the interview stage.

It is desirable that you understand the regulations/legislations around Health and Social Care and Safeguarding, however you will receive training. It is also desired that you will have previously worked with therapists and with people who have cognitive difficulties, physical and communication difficulties. Non-smokers are preferred.

Essential requirements identified for this role include:

- An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this vacancy (expense to be met by HomeCareDirect)
- You must be a driver with a full, UK driving licence
- Strong IT skills including the ability to use a laptop to send emails, create Microsoft Word documents, write reports and carry out internet searches
- Previous experience of working with clients, 1:1 in the community and in their own home
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, including being a strong listener and engaging with the client
- Be able to work with a dog in the family home
- Prepared to commit to long term care for one client in a 'person-centred' way
- Willing to be trained to CQC standards to meet the client's needs
- Respect Company policies and procedures
- Be reliable / non-judgemental / caring / responsible / compassionate
- Committed to confidentiality and to treat the client with dignity and respect

Contractual Benefits:

- £15.00 - £17.50 per hour increasing to £18.00 - £20.00 per hour after probation
