Summary

Brand new and exciting opportunity to join the team of an ever expanding, leading technology company based in Quedgeley, Gloucester. Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced and reliable individual to join them as Senior Technical Engineer! This is a full-time, permanent and office-based position based within their bright and spacious, recently refurbished offices.

The company has experienced a large amount of growth in recent times, and they anticipate even more! Therefore, they are looking for an additional Support Technical Engineer to join them and support the team on this journey. Your role will be fundamental to the company’s operational capability.

The company markets a wide range of PDH, SDH, Ethernet/IP, MPLS, GPON, DWDM, Cellular
and Wireless based networking equipment. They provide and manage a variety of SNMP based
network management systems that run on Linux, Solaris and Windows servers. To be considered for the role you must have a basic understanding of these technologies and ideally specialist knowledge in at least one of the areas.

They are looking for a hardworking individual with a positive attitude who is willing to learn and keep on top of modern communication technologies as the industry evolves. You must be an excellent team player who can contribute and apply good fault resolution methodology in an open
environment.

You will be required to participate in their 24/7 support to customers, this will be on an out of hours rota basis and will include phone & email support, as well as very occasional site visits.

Candidate Attributes:
-Familiar with a range of test equipment such as optical power meters & light
sources
-Good customer facing and communication skills.
-Ability to work as part of team or alone using own initiative
-The ability to train other members of the team and customers
-A good work ethic
-The ability to manage fault tickets from beginning to end

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 8:30am – 5pm, Early Finish on a Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm

Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum, depending on experience + pension scheme enrolment after a successful probation period
