Summary

Full time, Part-time and or Bank Positions available
Location: 12 Woburn Road or any other current or future premises of the company
Accountable to: Operations Manager
Salary: Dependent on experience

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide support of service users residing within The Rhema Projects in line with the organisations aim to provide a high quality, reliable support service tailored to suit each of our service users individual care plans and to promote independence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To attend to assigned shifts at residential units and follow the processes and procedures in place to ensure that young people are safeguarded, and their needs and welfare are met.
• Open post and distribute as necessary
• Clean unit and ensure it is tidy at all times
• When a young person moves out, clean room and prepare it for the next young person
• Regular welfare checks on young people
• Check medication sheet for young people and administer medication if required
• Look in diary for appointment information and attend appointments as required
• Check your email
• Complete verbal and written handover with members of staff
• Keep the office door open and respond to young peoples’ requests appropriately
• Filing, typing, petty cash administration
• Assist service users to carry out their daily activities i.e. college/school/appointments
• To write contact sheets for each young person and a handover record at the end of the shift
• To promote independence/life skills, working though independence booklet, completing key-work sessions and completing all relevant paperwork
• Multi-agency working – liaise with all professionals involved with the young people
• To demonstrate understanding and awareness of The Rhema Projects equal opportunity policy and be able to put this into practice in a working environment
• To contribute to the protection of individuals from abuse, adhering to safeguarding legislation
• To attend meetings to contribute to the effectiveness of support delivery
• To undertake any training required to perform the role more effectively, acknowledging any deficits in practice or knowledge and identifying any training needs

Matters of a confidential nature, including information relating to young people or staff, must not under any circumstances be divulged to any unauthorised person. Breaches in confidence will result in disciplinary action, which may result in dismissal. In exceptional circumstances this could result in a prosecution for an offence of action for civil damages under the Data Protections Act 1998.

REVIEW
These guidelines are provided to assist in the performance of the contract but are not a firm condition of the contract. This job description will be reviewed as necessary to meet the needs of the service in consultation with the post holder.

APPRAISAL
TRP operates a system of individual performance review/appraisal for the purpose of agreeing performance objectives and discussing development needs in line with requirements of service needs.

CONFLICT OFINTEREST
You may not without the consent of TRP engage in any outside employment. You must declare to the operations manager all private interests, which could potentially result in personal gain because of your employment position within TRP. Interests that might appear to be in conflict should also be declared.

DISCLOSURE AND BARRING SERVICE
It is a requirement of this position that a DBS at the enhanced level is undertaken.

• Lone Working - You may have to work alone, and therefore you are required to adhere to the relevant lone working policy.
• Risk Management - All members of staff have a responsibility to report all accidents or incidents promptly and when requested to, co-operate with any investigation undertaken.
