Summary

Chelmsford Theatre are seeking a new full time Duty Manager dedicated to delivering the highest levels of customer service for our shows and events across our performance spaces. The successful applicant will ensure a seamless, safe, and welcoming experience for all, while also overseeing our Food and Beverage and merchandise offering to boost commerciality and ultimately profitability, leading the show team of supervisors and hosts in delivering the ultimate red-carpet experience!

The Theatre has been on an incredible journey since reopening its doors in early 2023 after a stylish front-of-house makeover, transforming the customer experience, attracting new audiences, shows, and artists, and providing a red carpet treatment for all audiences and users. Last year alone, we hosted over 140,000 attendees across a diverse range of shows and events, solidifying our role in Chelmsford's cultural and entertainment landscape.

There are two positions available for this post, one is permanent and the other is for a fixed term of 5 months. Please specify in your application form which you are applying for.

Due to the nature of the theatre operation this role does need the ability to work flexible hours and shifts which include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. This role is offered on an annualised hours basis.

Interviews are currently scheduled for the 9th May 2024.

Chelmsford City Council is committed to safeguarding vulnerable groups and expects all employees to share this commitment and have a range of policies and procedures in place which promote safeguarding and safer working practices across our services. The Council's Safer Recruitment process contains pre-employment vetting which includes safeguarding training, obtaining references and ensuring compliance with Disclosure and Barring Service process.
