Summary

Our client is a successful manufacturing business and due to an expansion and increasing volumes we are currently recruiting production operatives for them.

Duties
• Ensuring all safe systems of work and standard operating procedures are always adhered to in Health & Safety, Production and Quality, as set out by the company
• Complete all related paperwork and input data accurately
• Be able to operate the machine after training completed
• Ensure the housekeeping of the machine and working area, is maintained, in line with the company standard
• Working on a production line
• Stacking products
• Quality inspection
• Identify areas of improvements and work in a proactive manner
Required knowledge, skills or experience
• No qualifications required but previous experience in manufacturing / machine operator is essential, working with wood is desirable
• Must be able to demonstrate:
- ability to operate the machine
- ability use of simple hand tools
• Positive "can do" attitude, and flexible to work on a variety of different sections within the department when required
• The ability to be thorough and pay attention to detail is key
• Working well with others in a small team is a regular part of the role
• Patience and the ability to work well during busy production periods
• The ability to accept direction and work without constant supervision
• Physical skills like movement, coordination and dexterity
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Good reading and writing skills are essential

Additional Information

Location: Shildon

Hours of work:
• Monday - Thursday 0800 – 1700 and Friday 0800-1400 (40hr working week)

Rates of pay:
• £11.44 to £13.50 depending on experience
