Summary

In summary the general duty of the role is: The main duty of the post holder would be to provide medical support to the inpatient service with opportunities to work in our specialist outpatient clinics and with the community team. Contribution to day to day management of medical problems and rehabilitation of inpatients. The post holder will be expected to join the existing on-call rota along with colleagues from older adults medicine. The middle grade doctor can seek advice and support from the acute medical on-call team based at New Cross Hospital Wolverhampton as well as from NRU Consultants. Responsibility for correspondence: this includes investigation results; admission, progress and discharge summaries of inpatients; letters of patients seen in clinics etc. Participation in supervision and support for junior medical staff attached to NRU. Participation in assessment of patients referred from acute and other hospitals and community. Contribution to liaison with other hospitals, trusts, districts, statutory services and other agencies. Participation in audit, training and educational programmes in Directorate and the Trust. Participate in preparation of strategic development plans for specialist rehabilitation in Wolverhampton.
