Summary

deVOL Kitchens is one of the leading and most highly regarded kitchen companies in the UK, with manufacturing and design offices based in Leicestershire, London and New York.

We are looking for a motivated and friendly individual to be part of our busy and growing ceramics workshop, producing slip cast lights, tiles and a small range of domestic ware.

As a production assistant, your role will involve assisting with all aspects of production; slip casting, fettling, sanding, tile pressing, extruding tiles, glaze preparation and eventually application.

Other tasks include:
- General assistance around the workshop.
- Loading and unloading kilns.
- Keeping workspaces neat and tidy.
- Helping with stock checks.

You may also be required to occasionally assist with packing and dispatch during busy periods. The role is very hands on and involves moderate lifting, so please ensure you inform your manager if you require assistance with this.

This position is currently based in Loughborough, however our ceramics studio will be moving to Shepshed over the summer.

This is an exciting role for graduates coming from art and design courses or for someone with a creative background. You will receive complete training, develop a diverse set of practical skills, and gain first hand experience in the process of handcrafted batch manufacturing.

We would love you to:
- Be hard working.
- Be a quick learner with a hands on and practical approach.
- Have great attention to detail.
- Be a strong communicator.
- Work well within a team but also independently.
- Have previous workshop experience and creative interests (advantageous).

We offer a competitive salary based on experience and during your first year you will receive training in the role and performance appraisals where your pay will be reviewed.

After this we offer annual pay reviews and continued support from the team.

You will receive 22 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays) which can increase with length of service and experience, as well as life insurance, company pension, a cycle 2 work scheme and company events.

If you would like to apply for this role please submit your CV, Cover Letter and Portfolio of Work.
