Summary

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a private day-nursery in Arnold. This is an exciting opportunity work with a warm and positive private day-nursery in the Arnold area who focus on child engagement with a therapeutic approach. The setting looks after children from 3 months to 5 years old. The nursery ensures children are able to challenge themselves and take risks in a safe and secure environment.

The nursery is looking to take on a Level 3 qualified Nursery Practitioner, with the opportunity to go permanent after 12 weeks. You will report directly to the Nursery Manager and could be required to work across all rooms, supporting children from ages 3 months up to 5 years. In a time of growth for this Nursery, career progression opportunities are also available for the right Nursery Practitioner.

The successful Nursery Practitioner will have:

• Level 3 in childcare
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Studies (EYFS) curriculum
• ‘Can-do’ approach with the willingness to get stuck in
• Adaptability

You must be at least level 3 qualified and be able to work using your own initiative. You must have a sound knowledge of the EYFS and Child Protection/Safeguarding procedure and enjoy working with children. This department caters to the educational needs of young learners, providing a foundation for their academic journey. The Nursery Setting places great emphasis on staff training in the EYFS curriculum and safeguarding to ensure optimal support for the children in their care.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan and deliver a diverse range of activities and experiences that cater to the individual needs and interests of each child.
    • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
    • Support children’s learning and development through structured play, group activities, and one-on-one interactions.
    • Maintain a safe and hygienic learning environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines and school policies.
    • Monitor and assess children’s progress, providing feedback and support to promote continuous improvement.
    • Contribute to the planning and evaluation of the Early Years curriculum, incorporating best practices and innovative approaches.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
