Summary
Nepacs is a long-standing charity which has been working in the north east since 1882, predominantly supporting people impacted by contact with the criminal justice system. Over recent years we have expanded our delivery to include support for other individuals who face challenges and disadvantage in their lives including people who have experience of being in care.
Nepacs has been awarded a contract to work with HMP Holme House to provide support for prisoners and their families and significant others from 12 weeks onwards to the day of release from prison. This ‘Departure Lounge’ service will offer pre-release guidance and support and provide prisoners with a place to access immediate support on the day of release to contact family and/or friends and to receive any information that is relevant to their release including travel information, information on statutory appointments and food bank assistance.
The post holders will work with the prison pre-release teams and relevant agencies prior to release from custody and on the day of release and provide a welcoming service at Nepacs’ Departure Lounge, ensuring sufficient accurate resources are available to meet the needs of those being released from prison.
This post is subject to Prison Service vetting, an enhanced DBS and pre-employment checks.
We welcome applications from people from all sectors of our diverse communities and all backgrounds, including ex-offenders (appointment to post is subject to risk assessment).
