We have an exciting new opportunity for an ambitious, dedicated and professional individual to join the team at Kirkgate House as Senior Support Worker, our Learning Disabilities residential service based in Bridlington!

This position would be ideal for an experienced Support Worker looking to progress their career to the next level!

The company is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role. You will be required to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.

Pay & Hours:

• Rate of Pay - £12.50 per hour.
• Hours of Work – 24.5 hours, split over two shifts a week on nights.
• Shift Pattern – Working to a rota covering 7 days per week (every other weekend).
• £500 welcome bonus (£250 to be paid at 2 milestones).

The Role:

You will oversee the care team and ensure the safe delivery of care, support and medication with all standards met during your shift. With continued guidance from the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, as well as support from our experienced team, you will be given the opportunity to get to know the resident’s needs before transferring onto nights.

Main responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Coach and mentor new and existing staff
• Review care plans
• Prepare, administer, store, record and order medication
• Personal care (washing, dressing, oral hygiene)
• Maintain and develop professional relations with families
• Reporting any safeguarding concerns
• Promote independence of our residents at all times to improve their quality of life.

About you:

• Have an NVQ Level 2 in Care; this is not essential as our Team Leader Development Programme will support those wanting to take the next step in their career.
• Medication trained - not essential as training can be given
• Be confident in supervising others and be able to manage/prioritise workloads
• Be able to work as part of a team.
• Have a positive attitude.

About us:

Kirkgate House supports up to 28 individuals aged 18 and over with a learning disability and associated care and support needs. Kirkgate compromises of 5 individual living areas each with its own lounge, kitchen and dining areas supporting adults with learning disabilities with long term residential support. We have a Garden Room which enables people to socialise with their housemates. The home has 2 apartments for people requiring minimal support yet still needing the feeling of security and support a care home can offer.

The HICA Group is a ‘Not for Profit’ organisation providing a range of care services to elderly clients and people with learning difficulties, across a range of services, including our care homes, residential settings and in the community.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
