We are looking to expand our Nursing offering at Hampden House, Harrogate and are keen to receive applications from newly qualified or experienced Nurses.

Hampden House is a flagship, purpose-built and beautifully presented 66-bed nursing care home close to Valley Gardens in Harrogate. Separated into 4 homely communities, it boasts spacious communal areas, an exciting activities programme, a licensed bar and a relaxing courtyard and garden.

Led by a nurse-qualified, highly experienced, and person-centred Registered Manager you will work collaboratively with a Clinical Deputy, Head of Residential, Unit Managers, Seniors and passionate care team, ensuring you have the time and support to build relationships and understand resident needs. HICA understands nursing, thanks to a team of Operations Managers, a Director of Operations and CEO who are all nurse qualified.

The company is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role. You will be required to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.

Hours & Pay:

Salary - £21.07 p/h plus enhanced rates for overtime and bank holidays
Hours: 24.5 hours per week, Casual positions may be considered
Shifts Pattern: Flexible working patterns and flexible contracted hours

Your training & development:

Upon joining, you will commence a journey through our bespoke Nursing Development Portfolio that delivers a blended programme of training, coaching & competencies, whilst accessing online courses certified by Health Education England. Together with this, you will receive full training on our electronic medication and electronic care planning systems.

Our nursing team also enjoy opportunities to undertaking external training accredited through universities to help towards CPD and revalidation. Courses can include advanced clinical skills, wound care, NEWS 2, palliative care and end of life. Joining mentorship training programmes is also an option for those who are interested in coaching new nurses through their learning journey.

A day in the life:

Usually spending your time on one community, you will be familiar with your residents and their individual needs. You will work with a “buddy” whilst you complete all internal training and grow your confidence to operate with the autonomy you’re afforded.

You will be part of an MDT approach to supporting residents, liaising with other health professionals such as GPs and dieticians, assessing plans for care and reviewing medication. Our nurses play a pivotal role in supporting the person and their family.

Our nursing team work collaboratively with care and support roles across the service, external third parties and family to meet the holistic needs of residents. Nursing is an all-inclusive role from doing PEG feeds, catheter care, syringe drivers, wound management, observations, through to developing positive behaviour plans.

Daily ‘Safety Huddle’ meetings provide an opportunity to meet with representatives from all departments of the home and discuss any important issues, raise concerns and communicate information.
