Logistics People are looking for a Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team.

Location: Dudley

Working Hours: Monday – Friday Day Shifts Available

Pay Rate: £15.30 P/hr

Logistics People are currently recruiting a Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our Team in Dudley, based at our IPS site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support the quality team and ensure the site is continuously audit ready
  • To be involved with and drive the site Food Safety and Quality Culture Programme
  • To support site audits and customer visits
  • To carry out internal audits including GMP, glass & hard plastics & system audits as per schedule
  • Collation of data – this includes internal incidents, non-conformances, complaints etc.
  • To support production in rework activities including generation of rework instructions
  • Support new production start-ups and ensure compliance to SPIs
  • Be involved in Root Cause Analysis
  • Be involved in traceability exercises
  • To be involved with training of new procedures/processes to relevant personnel
  • Input correct quality checks for each line code that reflect the QMS and customer requirements along with ensuring all relevant documentation is provided for each job including but not limited to: SPI generation, TUBC creation, Visual standards
  • To ensure all paperwork and systems are completed and accurate in accordance with company procedures and report findings to production
  • Conduct routine independent Quality Checks in production
  • To produce ‘Red & ‘Green’ packs for checkweighers along with test packs for x-ray, metal detector, barcode readers or other equipment requiring test packs
  • Product release hold / embargo pallets once release confirmed
  • To ensure equipment calibrations are within specification and suitable for use (scales, checkweighers etc.)
  • To complete required audits as per schedule (Line, personnel, system, engagement audits)
  • To collate data relating to waste unsaleables on site including raising of non-conformances
  • Ensure the final product meets client specifications (SPI)
  • To support production on a day to day basis from a quality perspective
  • Promoting and adhering to IPS Best Practice and Site set standards
  • Effectively use the integrated management system (Vision)
  • To adhere to and promote best practice in accordance with company health, safety and quality regulations
  • To act as a role model for best practice
  • Drive own personal development through training and work based experience
  • To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time, that reasonably fall within the scope and grade of the post
  • To manage the day to day activities of the site cleaners ensuring compliance to site standards
  • To support senior Team with preparation for BRC Accreditation through GAP Analysis, internal audits, training, implementation.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of working within a food quality environment within a quality role
  • Minimum 2 years quality experience including an understanding of quality management systems including GFSI certification
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage, motivate and coach in a positive and clear manner
  • Possess a ‘right first time’ attitude and have a willingness to be hands on when required
  • Ability to work towards targets whilst making informed decisions and communicate to the relevant stakeholders
  • Experience of managing a team, whilst fostering an open and collaborative culture listening and encourage new ideas from others
  • Possess a dynamic leadership attitude and style, supporting and motivating a teams as required and work together to add value and manage challenges
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks working to strict deadlines for their own workload and their direct reports
  • Ability to work under pressure both as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Displays a positive attitude to change and has the ability to positively lead and drive culture changes
