Summary


Rampton Hospital is one of three high secure hospitals in England and Wales, with three national services. We are looking for Male's to join our growing team of Healthcare Asssistants.

HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT | £29,816 to £31,336 per annum (Inclusive of High Secure Allowance)

We are the only hospital in the country to provide high secure care to patients who are women, who are deaf or who have Learning Disabilities, alongside our Mental Health and Personality Disorder treatment pathways.

As a Health Care Assistant at Rampton High Secure Hospital you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse, carrying out assigned tasks to directly care for our patients.

You will be assisting with the daily activities that support the physical and mental health of our patients. This may be promoting hygiene, ensuring they are ready for mealtimes, ready to undertake their therapy or activities.

You will be working in a highly demanding environment in which, daily, you will come across complex and emotionally challenging situations. You should be able to understand relational security, have personal resilience and be able to manage the complexity that a high secure environment brings.

You will be required to work 13 hour days over 3 shifts in a 7-day week. The shifts are day or night (24/7, 365 days per year). Part time work is available however shift flexibility is required in addition to working a share of weekends and bank holidays. Flexibility is offered through roster requests. Rosters are set 12 weeks in advance to support planning.

We provide a range of treatment pathways for patients with complex needs including psychological, occupational and educational approaches to support their recovery.

As a Healthcare Assistant you will be:
• Providing and maintaining a high standard of care, facilitating therapeutic / meaningful activities for patients on the ward.
• Involved in escorting patients on out of grounds visits
• Liaising closely with other health and social care professionals as well as patients, relatives, and carers.
• Undertaking, record, and report clinical observations as directed by registered staff.
• Always act in a manner to promote and safeguard the interests and wellbeing of patients.
• Actively promote a responsible caring attitude at all times, treating all patients with dignity and respect.
