Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse, preferably with vascular surgery experience but training will be given to the right candidate. We are looking to appoint a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse for the Regional Vascular Surgery ward which looks after both acute and elective patients who require vascular surgical intervention We are looking for a senior nurse who is forward thinking, highly motivated and able to demonstrate experience in a variety of settings. This post will support the band 7 to lead, and to further enhance the team of nurses within the vascular surgery ward. This inpatient ward has 27 beds, its busy and complex in nature. You shall be exposed to a range of situations, which in turn shall aid skill development to enhance your wider knowledge and professional development. Key aspects of the role are focusing on the patient experience and patient safety, providing assurance that standards are met for every patient, every time and ensure the development of the service. This is a challenging and demanding role due to the complex nature of the speciality; we are looking for an individual who is committed to providing an excellent service, has a progressive outlook and can evidence strong leadership skills. The post holder will need to demonstrate aptitude and willingness to embrace and drive forward change as part of the senior nursing team. The successful candidate will have strong communication, organisational and team working skills and have experience of managing nursing teams and successfully implementing change. Considerable experience at Band 5 or above, and evidence of post registration development are essential. They will be involved in close working with the rest of the multi-disciplinary team to deliver patient centered care and will be committed to improving the patient experience through new ways of working.
