Summary

Transport Senior Operations Manager

Skelmersdale

Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Ideal Recruit are currently looking for a Transport Senior Operations Manager to join a leading logistics company in Skelmersdale. You will be responsible for the overall management and control of the transport operations, including Freight Forwarding and Pallet Network.

Key Responsibilities:

• Acting as a key representative for the Company’s transport management, responsible for maintaining strong business relationships with the customers.
• The submission of weekly, monthly and annual business matrix, KPI reporting and project delivery.
• Cost control and budget management.
• Ensuring operational service levels are met and exceeded through the achievement of operational KPI’s.
• Ensure Contractual SLAs are adhered to and customer requirements are fulfilled through effective communication.
• Accountable for delivering high quality customer focused service.
• Ensuring resource plans are in place to meet operational requirements whilst setting challenging targets to consistently improve areas of responsibility.
• Managing of all ER issues – disciplinary, grievances and absence.
• Build a stable workforce that is engaged and committed and in turn establish a culture of innovation and continuous improvement to deliver best in class operations.
• To provide leadership, motivation, engagement, training and development of the workforce by identifying, and implementing actions plans to reduce skill gaps.
• Implement succession planning and monitor performance against operational goals.
• Develop a reporting and auditing process to analyse operational effectiveness.
• Ensure Compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
• Support and implement company initiatives.
• Ensuring all transport operations, practices and procedures are managed in line with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and other statutory requirements.

Requirements:

• Experience of multi-site operations
• 5 Years management experience in Transport Logistic operations
• Confident user of Microsoft Programs
• Able to demonstrate leadership qualities with excellent influencing and interpersonal skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, at all levels
• Ability to produce data and information to identify opportunities and cost saving initiatives
• Ability to lead change processes
• Full UK driving licence
• Excellent Management skills International CPC Qualified or working towards
