Summary

Prison Recovery Worker, Full Time, Permanent.
Located in HMP Haverigg - due to the location, unless local, you will need access to your own vehicle.

Who are we…
Humankind is one of England’s most successful home-grown charities. We provide free, confidential support for alcohol, drugs, housing, or mental health in North of England Prisons and friendly local places across the UK.
We are committed to fair chances for all and making sure everyone can access the help and support they need to realise their potential.
By joining our teams of passionate individuals, you will be contributing to making this happen. You can really make a difference by believing in our service users and their ability to make positive changes when they don’t always believe in themselves.

About the role…
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Recovery Coordinator to support Humankind’s Drug and alcohol service within the Dart Team at HMP Haverigg situated in Millom in Cumbria and provides drug and alcohol support to men of all ages.

As a Recovery Coordinator, you will hold a caseload and provide 1:1 support for our service users, from brief interventions through to structured treatment, including groups to ensure that every recovery journey is tailored to individual needs and priorities.

You will take a “whole person” holistic approach to ensure that every service user’s package of care encompasses all areas of their wellbeing, to achieve the best possible outcomes for every person.

You will work alongside the Service Manager, other Recovery coordinators and an administrator.

About you…
The successful post holder will match our ambition and commitment to provide the highest standards of service quality and performance within this partnership.

Ideally you will:
Possess a relevant health and social care qualification.
Experience working within drug and alcohol services.
Have creativity that enables you to think outside the box and generate innovative ideas.
Be able to manage your own caseload and create personalised care plans.
Have the ability to engage with people and facilitate change.
Demonstrate empathy and inspire others to overcome challenges.
The successful candidate will be subject to a DBS check and a Prison security vetting check.

We do advise applicants to take into consideration the serious nature of some of the offences committed by the service users as you will be working on a 1 to 1 basis with some offenders and the information of their crimes may be triggering for some.
