Hays are representing a leading energy provider in Northern Ireland to recruit a Responsible Business Champion (Internal Comms & Engagement) to join their communications team.


Your new role
As Responsible Business Champion you will be responsible for shaping, implementing, and evaluating a high-performing responsible programme. Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with relevant colleagues and partner organisations as the key point of contact to develop, oversee, support, and evaluate RB activities, aligned to the wider business strategy.
  • Assist in the administration of Employee Forums.
  • Coordination of staff social events
  • Coordination of external responsible business activity within the local communities.
  • Implementation of various strands of the Healthy LIFE calendar e.g., Flu Vaccines, Steps Challenge,
  • Ensure Responsible Business outcomes are captured in photo or video formats and promoted on social media channels and intranet
  • Work with colleagues to enhance internal communication platforms, optimising employee engagement and volunteering
  • Represent the business at key regional events, industry groups and forums to identify emerging issues and where appropriate work on collaborative projects
  • Provide timely insights and content to support internal reporting requirements, annual publications and marketing materials.
  • Research and remain up to date with initiatives locally that provide opportunities for business engagement
  • Working with HR colleagues, help to inform and shape Group policies relating to Responsible Business and bring these to life with paper and digital assets.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation, procedures, best practice, and techniques, in particular relating to Responsible Business, and ensure that they are incorporated into our ways of working.
  • Champion Values Programme, continuously seeking out and celebrating 'values in practice' across the workplace.
  • Identification of relevant awards and draft submissions in order to promote the Group's charitable and community initiatives.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings to ensure consistency and quality in line with expectations.
  • Undertake project work as requested by the Communications Manager.
  • Fulfil any other duties and responsibilities from time to time that are reasonable and commensurate with the role.


What you'll need to succeed
* Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience to include a relevant marketing qualification / accreditation.
* A confident communicator and presenter with experience of engaging with and influencing stakeholders.
* Highly computer and web literate, with excellent IT skills.
* Sound knowledge of capturing and editing video for social media use.
* Proficient at copywriting and proofreading.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to prioritise, organise and manage a busy workload.
* Display initiative, creativity and enthusiasm in all aspects of their work.
* Possess a flexible and proactive working attitude.
* Possess a full current driving licence with access to own car for travel and business insurance.
Desirable
* Previous experience in Internal Communications or Staff Engagement.
* Previous experience in responsible business activity (for example sponsorship or fundraising).
