Summary


Working within the Learning & Development Team, the Digital Learning Developer’s primary responsibility will be to design, develop, edit and roll out high quality e-Learning/multimedia courses focusing primarily on the electronic patient care record system (ePCR) for front line clinical staff within the East of England Ambulance ServiceTrust (EEAST). These resources will be hosted on the Trust Learning Management System (LMS) and the post holder will be responsible for uploading and maintaining this area of the LMS. They will advise staff on how to maximise their use of ePCR digital learning. Further they will evaluate the impact of this mode of learning using online evaluation techniques and focus groups.

The post holder will be involved in all stages of the development of digital resources for this project, working with the ePCR Clinical Lead, the ePCR Configuration Analyst and stakeholders to develop engaging learning experiences using resource authoring tools, image editing, graphic design, audio and video creation and editing whilst bearing in mind the level of capability and diversity of EEAST staff.

1. To work within the Learning and Development team to produce, maintain, and modify digital learning resources, primarily for ePCR.
2. Undertake research and testing to ensure all digital learning resources developed are fit for purpose (e.g. SCORM/platform compliant) by using appropriate authoring/hosting software (e.g. Articulate, Vyond, LMS365, Evolve, Microsoft Teams).
3. To work with SMEs, trainers and staff in divisions to highlight opportunities where digital tools and learning can enhance or support the delivery of existing educational programmes.
4. Comparing a range of options, identify learning methodologies which will help to enhance educational offerings for staff and students such as collaborative synchronous and asynchronous discussion forums, blogs, and curated digital libraries of learning resources.
5. Support administration of the Trust’s LMS where required to effect access to online resources.
6. Liaise with internal IM&T to agree technical IT solutions, where required.
7. Support the development and implementation of a Trust Digital Learning Strategy, alongside the Learning and Development team
8. Ability to work independently organising own workload of project goals, adjusting and prioritising plans as necessary with Project Managers, SMEs, internal/external developers and staff to achieve the required outcomes.
9. To ensure a robust process is followed in respect of the development and quality assurance of digital learning resources.
10. To ensure that SMEs and other stakeholders are engaged as partners in the process, including reviewing all content prior to a final sign off.
11. To demonstrate best practice in respect of online and virtual learning developments e.g. ensuring accessibility and adherence to quality standards.
12. To evaluate developments online on a regular basis both immediately after use and in the future when staff have used their knowledge back in the workplace.
13. Research innovative technologies and approaches for successful implementation of digital learning, ensuring that software skills (digital and multimedia development, project management etc.) are well-maintained.
14. Monitor local and national initiatives in relation to digital learning and Online Learning and Content Management Systems.
15. To assist staff with online learning related queries arising with the use of the LMS and Microsoft Teams.
16. Provide on-going information, training and support to other teams within the organisation who are producing digital learning projects.
17. Monitor the use of online and virtual learning within the organisation and document data accurately regarding where, when and on what system.
18. To proactively identify and resolve any issues relating to online learning (site, content, delivery) within scope of role.
19. To promote and market digital learning as a viable alternative or augment to classroom delivery.
