Summary


Great Western Hospital Apprenticeships offers you a work placement for Twenty Four months in Business Administration Level 3 for the Great Western Hospital Trust in Swindon. This can be based in our main GWH Hospital, Orbital or Commonhead depending on the department the position will be based within.

You must be confident, an excellent communicator, and able to work with existing procedures and processes within the Team. You need an eye for detail and be able to work to tight deadlines. Customer Service experience would also be advantageous.

We are looking to recruit a motivated, high quality individual to join our Apprenticeship programme at Great Western Hospital. With support from Managers, training providers and the Apprenticeship team, you will be an effective member of your team gaining valuable experience whilst undertaking a programme of further education and development as part of the Apprenticeship.

If you are shortlisted you will be invited to an interview which includes literacy & numeracy assessments. You will be expected to complete the formal training elements of the programme and must not hold a NVQ/QCF/ BTEC level 3 or higher in Business Administration.

We have a dedicated team based in the Academy, which is the Trust’s Learning and Development centre who will support you in your Apprenticeship programme. They will work very closely with you and your manager to provide a comprehensive development plan detailing your objectives and workplace goals. Your course provider will assign you an assessor who will provide you with work and also support you on your journey.
Work as part of a team providing a full administration service in Women & Children's Administration. This will include, but is not limited to, the following:

1 Undertake a variety of administrative, clerical and secretarial duties for the Women & Children’s Team as appropriate. This includes the opening and distribution of post, typing clinical correspondence, preparing clinic notes, data input, and answering phones.

2. Assist in managing various inboxes, responding to basic queries and liaising with clinicians as required.

3. Liaise with other departments as necessary to make appointments, obtain case notes etc.

4. Answering telephone queries politely, promptly and in a professional manner.

5. Dealing with queries as they occur throughout the day and passing on messages promptly to the appropriate parties.

6. Retrieving case notes from Medical Records as and when required.

7. Preparation of resources for teaching, lectures and presentations, as and when required.

8. Effective use of time management skills to prioritise workload.

9. Scanning documents and reports for uploading against electronic patient records (EPR)

10. To sign a learning contract with the training provider and adhere to the agreement.
