Summary

This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College.

Any offers of appointment will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (formerly CRB), a certificate of good conduct if applicable, plus receipt of satisfactory references, Occupational Health clearance, an understanding of safeguarding and qualifications verification. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this position as you will be working within 'Regulated Activity' within a specific place (i.e. the College).

BACKGROUND TO THE POST

The Head of Work Based Learning is responsible for the leadership and management of the Engineering Apprenticeship Work Based Learning curriculum area. With direct accountability for the success and positive progression of the student cohort under the leadership of the Director of Engineering Apprenticeships and Jaguar Land Rover Programmes.

The post holder will be accountable for curriculum, resource & financial management, and quality assurance.

Through the effective deployment of resources and College systems and procedures, the post holder will ensure that each student has access to and receives an outstanding experience including high quality teaching, learning and assessment that will ensure our students develop WCG ‘T-shaped’ employability skills to gain a competitive advantage as they progress towards and along their chosen careers.
Whilst working within the core values and through continuous improvement, the post holder will develop the curriculum area to meet or exceed the College’s KPIs.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY & ACCOUNTABILITY INCLUDE:

 Student outcomes, attainment, positive progression and destinations;
 Quality of provision and student experience;
 Performance and management of staff within the area
 Course planning (including study programme and other regulatory compliance);
 Efficient delivery models;
 Delivery of all provision in line with the College Strategy;
 Awarding body compliance; and
 Work effectively with any internal and external partners to ensure priorities are met.

OFFERS OF WORK

For the successful candidate a conditional offer of work will be made. Our offer of work will be conditional upon a number of mandatory pre-employment checks, to include but not limited to: DBS, Barred List check, right to work check, internet search, TRA check (academic posts).

Essential Attainments

✓Educated to a full Level 4 in a qualification within the subject area or related discipline
✓Assessor award A1 (or equivalent), or a willingness to complete the award within one year of commencing employment.
✓Experience of managing apprenticeships.

Desirable Attainments

✓Qualification in Management
✓Teacher Qualified.
✓Internal Verifier Qualification
