Your new role


My client is looking to strengthen their Environmental team with an Environmental Planner for a framework. You will provide town planning and environmental advice to the framework at design and planning stage, including town planning and environmental requirements such as applications, studies / surveys, reports and consents.


You will report directly to the National Environmental & Sustainability Manager and the responsibilities will include:

  • Consultation with designers and project managers to understand project scopes and advise on town planning and environmental requirements
  • Coordinate the delivery of project level design 3rd Party / Environmental Risk Reviews, and identify planning and environmental scopes of work
  • Liaise with Environmental Planners, and coordinate, and produce information required for EIA Screening/Scoping, planning applications and supporting documentation, as directed by the client.
  • Support to meetings with the client, statutory consultees and interested parties (as required and directed by the client)
  • Work with Third Party Coordinators to provide any relevant environmental information to projects
  • Coordinate with designers on environmental matters in order to confirm design solutions
  • Coordinate GIS support to assist with the production of Environmental Constraints Maps as required
  • Identify the requirements for Environmental permitting support and agree with the engagement of a specialist to support EPR requirements
  • Assist the project team with communications with relevant Local Planning Authorities and or statutory consultees as necessary and instructed by the Client
  • Consult with Environmental Regulators, as required
  • Co-ordinate the compilation of necessary documentation required for other environment related consents which may be in addition or separate to planning applications that may include: EA consents, Flood Risk Activity Permits and Ordinary Watercourse Consents; Hedgerow Removal Notices; PRoW Diversions; Applications for works to protected trees; Notices for intended works to trees in conservation areas.



What you'll need to succeed

Essential


  • Degree in appropriate town planning, environmental or related discipline
  • Knowledge and experience of planning requirements and submissions
  • Strong written and verbal communication and negotiating skills.
  • Moderate IT skills
  • Effective time and workload management.
  • Flexible approach.
  • Ability to define goals and plan to deliver them.
  • Full driving licence


Desirable


  • Relevant CSCS Card
  • Strong experience within the environmental field, specialising in design environmental advice and support
  • Post graduate diploma in town planning, environment or related discipline
