We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join our Mental Health Integrated Community Service team in West Berkshire to work with the PCNs.
As an Assistant Psychologist within this service, you will be based in West Berkshire, and work closely alongside the qualified Psychologists within the service and the operational team to support the development of the clinical provision in the West Berkshire area. You will undertake specific clinical work with patients with significant mental health issues and support the facilitation of therapy groups.
You will well supported and supervised by a qualified psychologist, and you will work within a dynamic, people-centred environment. You will be enabled to adopt a personalised approach to patient care that maximises independence, choice and control, following our philosophy of enabling people to reach and maintain their optimum level of health and wellbeing.
About the Job
• To provide clinical input in the development and systematic provision of high quality, accessible and non-stigmatising mental health services within the local primary care network.
• To support and enhance the professional psychological care of people who use the service by providing psychological assessment and evidence-based psychological interventions, under the supervision of a qualified psychologist working within the service, and by working independently according to a plan agreed with the operational lead and the supervising psychologist.
• To support and enhance the ability of people presenting with significant mental health problems to actively participate in identifying, planning and meeting their individual needs.
• To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of outcome statistics, and/or other project work as appropriate and agreed with the supervising psychologist and operational team lead.

The “must haves” for you to be considered for this role:
• A Psychology degree accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) at 2.1 or above OR Degree plus Masters level conversion qualification accredited by the BPS.
• Awareness, knowledge and skills of evidence-based psychological interventions as relevant to this role, particularly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
• High level of communication skills (written and verbal) including ability to communicate and work in mental health settings where the atmosphere may be highly emotional.
• Ability to commute or travel between localities
