Summary

The role is Chief Pharmacy Technician for Controlled Drugs supervising the supply of Controlled Drugs to the hospital and external sites utilising the Wholesale Dealers Licence.

In this role you will be responsible for the accurate supply of Controlled Drugs to the hospital and external sites working within the remits of the departments wholesale dealers licence. You will need to be a highly motivated and responsible individual with a passion for customer service and team work. You must have a high level of attention to detail and develop knowledge around the laws and working practices related to Controlled Drugs.

You will assist the Trusts Controlled Drugs Accountable Officer in the destruction and safe management of controlled drugs ensuring compliance with licences and legislation trust-wide.

You will participate in the stock control of Controlled Drugs reporting back to the Technical Support Services Manager, supervise the ordering of Controlled Drugs and carry out audits of ward and department Controlled Drug registers including those installed on automated medicine cabinets.

You will also be a final accuracy checker and able to carry out all other dispensary related duties including dispensing and team leading as well as overseeing the Pharmacy Assistants as their line manager.

You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills further through our Accelerated Leadership Programme supported by a friendly and experienced team.

You will play a key role in the education, development, mentorship, supervision and assessment of all staff that work within the departments Controlled Drugs area
