The Digital and Website team oversee the delivery and ongoing innovation of all the Councils digital services. The team support both in-house solutions and those from specialist suppliers, making sure that the overall service meets our customers’ needs, is well integrated, high-performing, and secure.

About the role



The Digital Test Analyst role is part of a multidisciplinary team that reports to the Digital and Website Manager. The Digital Test Analyst’s responsibilities include testing applications and solutions before deployment, providing quality assurance, reporting on test findings, contributing to user research, and testing hypotheses resulting from research.



The Digital Test Analyst guides and monitors the analysis, design, implementation, and execution of test cases, procedures, and suites. They collaborate with colleagues, technical projects, programmes, and stakeholders to devise test objectives, strategies, plans, and estimate testing requirements.



You’ll be part of a team that relies on each individual to play their part to the best of their ability. As well as the colleagues that you work closely with every day, you’ll also be part of Team Reading, playing your personal part in making Reading a successful and vibrant place.


About you



As a Test Analyst, you will play a crucial role in our organisation by planning, monitoring, and controlling testing activities and tasks. With your expertise, you will devise test objectives, strategies, and plans in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring effective testing support from developers, service and project managers, and business stakeholders.



Your excellent reporting skills will be essential as you provide insightful reports on the outcome of testing exercises, enabling informed decision-making. You will also take charge of setting up and managing relevant environments during test execution, ensuring optimal testing conditions.



In this role, your strong organisational abilities will shine as you schedule tests, monitor progress, measure quality status, and report on test results. You will adapt the test plan and make necessary adjustments to accommodate changing conditions, ensuring a flexible and adaptive approach to testing.



You will also have the opportunity to support our user research team by analysing qualitative and quantitative research outcomes. Your insights will contribute to the improvement of our products and services, aligning them with user needs and expectations.
