Summary

PRINICIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES CLINICAL Deliver complex service activities and manage caseloads to ensure intended outcomes are delivered within agreed service standards. Responsible for providing comprehensive assessment, treatment and evaluation for all patients screened for referral, including those with complex and highly complex presentation, in a timely manner. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team as part of the team, in the planning and carrying out of treatment. Attend and participate in case conferences and ward meetings appropriate to the clinical setting. Prioritise day-to-day management of own caseload, delegating activities to the therapists as appropriate. Assess for and provide aids and adaptive equipment to increase or enable independent function, teaching compensatory techniques as required. These include but are not limited to feeding, dressing, employment and self-medication aids. Responsible for providing information and instruction for the safe use of the items provided. TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT Keep up to date with new techniques and technologies available for treating patients To assist in the induction and orientation of new members of the therapy team Supervise and teach junior therapists, students and assistants To attend and occasionally present at in-service training programmes, staff meetings, training sessions/courses (internally). To attend all statutory and mandatory training as and when required to do so. GENERAL Be responsible for the safe use of equipment used in carrying out physiotherapy duties and report any hazards or defects for repair through the appropriate channels Maintain good relationships with other multi-professional visiting the home Maintain HCPC professional registration Experience of working with a range of partner organisations Understanding of research and audit processes, clinical governance and Occupational Therapy outcome measure Knowledge of the enabling approach to support people to meet their full potential Evidence of continuous professional development To comply with all statutory requirement and legislation i.e. Health & Safety, COSHH, Moving and Handling, Fire Safety, Environmental Health etc This job description is not exhaustive and you may be required to undertake other duties commensurate with your position at the request of the Director of Care or person in charge of the home.
