Summary
Smart Paws are offering a kind, calm and holistic approach to dog grooming where they treat each animal on a 121 basis. They are looking for someone who is hard working, has lots of energy, confident, loves dogs and is brilliant at customer service and is willing to go the extra mile to learn a fantastic skill and become a dog groomer.
As an apprentice at Smart Paws, you will be an integral part of the team, assisting with;
Washing
Drying
Brushing and combing dogsYou will learn how to to;
Clip
Shave
Style fur according to breed standards or pet owner's requests
Trimming nails
Cleaning ears
Teeth
Checking for signs of infection
Identifying any potential health concerns like skin conditions, parasites, or ear infections and bringing them to the owner's attention.
Consulting with pet owners to understand their desired grooming style and specific needs for their dog.
Communicating with clients about their pet's grooming experience,
Booking appointments, updating client records, answering the phone, responding to messages, using social media.
Training
You will be working towards the Level 2 Dog Grooming apprenticeship.
All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.
Qualifications required
No grooming experience required as full training will be given. Must be confident with all breeds and size of dog. You must be confident to get stuck in and pick up the clippers after some initial training!
If not already achieved, you will be required to work towards Maths and English pass grades in Functional Skills, which will be Supported By Haddon Training.

If the business requires and is able, there may be a chance of continued paid employment and promotions to higher positions if you do well within the company. Duration 15 months
