Senior Community Children's Nurse

The team works in partnership with health and social care organisations reducing the need for hospital intervention. You will be working alongside and under the guidance of senior colleagues working within specific competencies to provide care in Children and Young people’s homes.

As a team we have strong connections and opportunities for joint working with the Paediatric Neurodisability Nursing Team based within special schools. Together the teams work in partnership ensuring the co-ordination and case management of these Children and Young people to ensure their needs are met.

Caseload needs of the Children and young people on your caseload will include care and use of central venous and intravenous devices and pumps, tracheostomy, naso- gastric and gastrostomy tubes, saturation monitors, suction machines, oxygen concentrators and cylinders and ventilators and any other nursing care/procedures. With the support of our practice education team, you will be supported to obtain/maintain competencies. There are opportunities to have protected time working across paediatrics in Croydon to get to know your caseload in acute/school environment, develop or further your clinical skills and to work within the MDT in advocating for your patients.
