Summary

WMG is looking to recruit an experienced Chief Engineer to work on provide leadership and direction across the range of materials capabilities that exist at WMG and define the future strategic direction.

Working within the Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing group and liaising closely with the Chief Technology Officer, you will provide technical leadership and strategic direction for the engineering team across a wide range of materials research areas, associated manufacturing processes, applications and TRL levels.

The role will be responsible for the line management of engineers and researchers within the Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing group, also assisting project leads within the Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing group and WMG CTO with industry engagement, and ensuring deliverables are met and rapid resolutions of any technical issues are achieved.

The role will also be a key interface with wider stakeholders and others such as High Value Manufacturing Catapult, Innovate UK, EPSRC & UK/EU Government departments and arms-length bodies.

Working across a broad range of collaborative projects and direct contract research with industry partners, you will bring extensive demonstrable management experience of delivering collaborative research, in addition to significant experience in a technical role in the development of materials research, associated applications and manufacturing processes.
